Edges of these lamps holders are rough which is natural to selenite and are shaped like the selenite mountains that we also sell. Lamp base is smooth and flat. The selenite is shaped and the inside hollowed out so that it will contain a bulb. The bulb we provide is a 15 watt oven bulb. The cable comes with a nice on / off switch along the cable. When you receive your selenite lamp it will have the cable and bulb separate. Just screw in the bulb, squeeze the metal clip and put the bulb inside the salt lamp. Then simply plug in and turn on.Selenite lamps look beautiful when lit and give a wonderful atmosphere.
